Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital is a specialty practice
located approximately 15 miles north of Boston. It is a full-service
veterinary hospital with state-of-the-art facilities. We have a team of
boarded specialists available to consult on all cases to ensure a
thorough evaluation for our patients. Integral to the appropriate
diagnosis is utilization of diagnostic imaging techniques. Modalities
available at MVRH are radiography, a 64-slice CT scanner,
Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). If
surgical interventional is recommended for treatment, our surgeons
utilize minimally invasive surgical techniques for fracture repair and
arthroscopic evaluation of joints.
The rehabilitation service was started in 2005. The rehabilitation team includes our full-time therapist Ingrid Bredas, PT, CCRT; full-time veterinary technician Elaine Ferrera, CVT, CCRA; and veterinary care assistant Amanda Brownell. Also supporting the rehabilitation team are Andi Looney, DVM, DACVAA, DACVSMR, CCRT; Mich Powers, DVM, DACVS, DACVSMR, CCRT; Lisa Corti, DVM, DACVS, CCRT; and Cara Blake, DVM, DACVS, CCRT. Patients recovering from both orthopedic and neurologic surgical procedures are treated post-operatively in formal rehabilitation programs to minimize pain and promote limb function for a faster return to activity.
